Behavioural Medicine Program

The Behavioural Medicine Program consists of Academic Half-Day sessions on Wednesday afternoons as well as small group sessions. Residents will participate in the small group sessions during their Family Medicine block time. The small-group sessions will take place at the Family Medical Centres on certain Wednesday mornings. The small group sessions will cover the following topics:
  • Interviewing, communication, and relationship building skills;
  • Counseling and psychotherapy skills;
  • Normal psychological development;
  • The key determinants of health and how they affect the health of patients and populations;
  • Dealing with difficult patients;
  • Questions and Answers for common Psychiatric presentations and diseases
