Palliative and End of Life Curriculum

(Effective date: July 1, 2009)

Purpose:
  • To enrich residents’ experience in palliative care beyond that offered during family medicine training
  • To ensure residents meet objectives in palliative care as required by CFPC accreditation standards
Key Features:
  • Mandatory experience for all residents
  • Resident will indicate preference for the type of rotation
  • Yearly or biannual mandatory palliative care education day as part of academic program
Available Rotation Locations are: Guelph, Kitchener, London, Sarnia, Woodstock, and Windsor

Palliative Care Seminars

Residents will participate in a palliative care half-day during their 16 week Family Medicine rotation.  These sessions are to supplement the knowledge and skills gained during the palliative care rotations, family medicine rotations, and academic half-days.
