About the Department

Palliative and End of Life Curriculum

(Effective date: July 1, 2009)

Purpose:

To enrich residents’ experience in palliative care beyond that offered during family medicine training
To ensure residents meet objectives in palliative care as required by CFPC accreditation standards

Key Features:

Mandatory experience for all residents
Resident will indicate preference for the type of rotation
Yearly or biannual mandatory palliative care education day as part of academic program

Available Rotation Locations are: Guelph, Kitchener, London, Sarnia, Woodstock, and Windsor

Palliative Care Seminars

Residents will participate in a palliative care half-day during their 16 week Family Medicine rotation. These sessions are to supplement the knowledge and skills gained during the palliative care rotations, family medicine rotations, and academic half-days.
