Ilderton

TRAINING SITE/PRACTICE DESCRIPTION

Middlesex Centre Regional Medical Clinic (MCRMC) is situated 17 km north from the centre of London in Ilderton, Ontario.  Ilderton is a rapidly growing rural community of 2000 people.  The medical clinic opened in June 2010 and is staffed by 7 physicians, 2 of which are a team lead for residents in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Western Ontario.  As MCRMC is part of the Thames Valley Family Health team, there is a strong interdisciplinary approach where nurses and other health professionals are very much a part of family practice.

PATIENT PROFILE

The clinic serves the village of Ilderton and surrounding areas  as well as patients from North London.  The population of the area provides a representative mixture typical of rural areas in Ontario.  As the medical clinic was built with a great deal of input from the townspeople, they are very proud of their facility and the people that work in it.
