Characteristics of Practice
Four physicians with individual family practices; Dr. Bartlett does allergy testing, Dr. Card is interested in skin diseases, Dr. Hook is involved with teaching. Dr. Stewart is interested in aviation medicine and Dr. Cowing is interested in eye diseases. About 15-30 patients per doctor are seen daily. There are 3 nursing homes in Tavistock staffed by individual doctors.
Friendly atmosphere; students are well accepted by patients and staff and able to be involved in active family practice.
Tavistock is also a community-based practice for resident teaching.
Tavistock is one of three sites of the STAR Family Health Team, which provides allied health professionals to work with the physicians - mental health workers, dietitians, nurse practitioners and pharmacists.

Small village of 2400 in rural community between Stratford, Woodstock, Kitchener and London. It is 17km southeast of Stratford.
