Characteristics of Practice
Rural Practice in Huron East Health Centre. Affiliated with FHN and FHT – Four other doctors, Psychologist, social worker, dietician, pharmacist and nurse practitioner. Active involvement in Hospital ER as well as care of inpatients. Sees 20-30 patients per day. Has 20 scheduled office hours/week; 14 hour emergency shifts per week. Medical director for nursing home and retirement home with weekly visits. Mixed population, many young families with children, obstetrics (antenatal care), elderly with chronic conditions.
